That's because the DJs you know about are wack! Don't tell me, you only really listen to 50 Cent, and other mainstream music, right? Today's DJs, or Turntablists can do some absolutely amazing stuff with turntable. Three of the best videos on here are DJ Woody's "flutine" routine (and the other vids of him), and Kid Koala's "trumpet" routine and Crazy-B's "Jazzy Guitar" routine.
that is very true Bugstrut....try searching DJ AM...a good dj can do anything mix , sratch mash up blends..and can play any genre...or try searching DJ FLIPside
To youthquake; DJ Solomon is the house Dj for the GS Warriors. And this video was during a halftime feature at a game not a club. The crowd at the arena are basketball fans and they appreciate the old school touch since most of the paying customers are between 25 to 45.
It's never been a good idea for club dj's to scratch. If you go doing some crazy qbert stuff, people will just be standing in awe watching you. Club owners want their patrons to be dancing. Patrons dancing get thirsty. Thirsty people buy overpriced drinks. The heavy scratching if pretty much left for the battles or exibitions.
Never heard of him before though.
