I can't believe this is already number 5.... This mix series has opened for Madonna all over her last US tour and has manifested nearly10,000 copies between printed CD's and downloads.
I always try to keep these mixes fresh and interesting, incorporating music you hopefully DON'T know. All of these tracks are super funky/soulful in their own way and blend together to form the ultimate dancy playlist for all occasions.

Thre3Style Set

This was my 15 Minute Set for the 2011 San Francisco Redbull Thre3style Dj Competition qualifier on Feb 24th 2011. I was up against 7 other djs and I had to perform 1st. I ended up getting 2nd place in the competition and got beaten out by a great set from the versatile Dj Goldenchyld.

While dance music comes in all shapes and sizes these days, there is an underlying melodic structure and rhythmic feel that really makes for the unique diversity of music that is featured in this series. This year as part of the San Francisco Symphony's Black and White Ball, "build your own ball" contest, I was voted by the public to have the pleasure of opening for the Legendary KOOL & THE GANG. I was of course overjoyed at the opportunity to open for such funk/soul luminaries, so i decided to play a genre appropriate opening set which included some of my favorite funk/soul/disco gems from the past and present. This is the unedited aprox 1.5 hour live set leading up to their performance on the main stage.... I hope you enjoy!

The goal if this mix is to feature all different types of "dance music", whose underlying theme is, regardless of style of music, has a tendency to make people dance. Michael Jackson Rocks Our World

I've been coming to terms with our loss of the greatest pop star and one of the biggest musical influences in my life. I figured what better way to do so then make an ode to the man himself. I know I had sort of tuned out most things Michael Jackson in the last few years because of all of the controversy that surrounded his non musical dealings... The more i learn about him since his passing, the more I think he wasn't actually such a weirdo, but more of a misunderstood gentle soul who brought us some of the best dance music the world has seen, as well as being one of the most generous philanthropists of our generation. I know i wouldn't be where I am today without his music and this mix is sort of my own cathartic means of coming to terms with just what he meant to me musically and how that has played into my life work. So please enjoy some of MY favorite MJ jams, I probably forgot a few of em, but these are the songs that helped shape what i think people like to dance to... This mix was done in 1 take and sort of stream of consciousness with very little preparation, I've actually posted this mix without even listening to the whole thing as I wanna get it up and shared as soon as i can. Pass this mix/link on to everyone you know who likes music and likes to dance, I think they will enjoy it!

Its so hard for me to make new mixes because i am so scrutinizing about what music flows together throughout a set... I also wanna make sure that I can listen to it 2-3 years later and still enjoy the mix. I think this little mix I put together fits all those criterion. This is the one and only GoldenSol mix cd. This was recorded as a demo for WMC 03, it featured all of our originals on our GS 001 EP. Its still a pretty fresh house mix, by myself and Ean Golden.
